Multi-day exhibitions are the ultimate test for any mobile coffee bar. In October 2026, Kart Coffee served thousands of speciality drinks over five days for RSE (Rosshire Engineering) at the IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition at the SEC in Glasgow.
The congress ran from 4 to 8 October 2026 and drew water professionals, engineers and utility representatives from around the world. For an exhibitor, that means thousands of potential conversations. A great coffee gives visitors a reason to stop, stay and talk.
As a Scotland-based team, an event at the SEC is close to home for us. Here’s what the week showed us about exhibition coffee catering, and how to plan coffee for your own stand.

Why a coffee bar works on an exhibition stand
Exhibition halls are busy, and every stand is competing for the same limited attention. A proper coffee, made well and served with a smile, gives people a reason to pause. That one pause is often what starts the conversation.
Here’s why exhibition coffee works:
Increases footfall: a speciality coffee bar draws visitors towards your stand
Extends dwell time: a quick coffee turns into a longer, more useful conversation
Creates relaxed networking: people open up more with a drink in hand
Reflects your brand: quality coffee signals attention to detail
Gets people talking: the queue itself becomes a natural place for introductions
For RSE, the coffee bar became a hub on the stand, a place where existing contacts reconnected and new introductions happened.
What we served RSE at the IWA World Water Congress
We served our full seasonal menu throughout the congress, giving visitors far more than a standard flat white, our House-made Hot Chocolate and our 7 Spiced Chai were a firm favourite. Alongside the seasonal drinks, we served the classics visitors expect from a quality coffee cart: flat whites, cappuccinos, americanos and hot chocolates.
Across the five days we served more than 2,000 drinks and every drink was made by an experienced barista using speciality beans, because at an exhibition the quality of your hospitality reflects directly on your brand.
Why multi-day exhibitions need a different approach
A one-day product launch and a five-day congress are very different jobs. Over a multi-day exhibition you need to think about:
Consistency: the drink on day five should be as good as the first one on day one
Stamina: your baristas need to keep standards up through long days and busy peaks
Supplies: fresh beans, milk and consumables must be planned and topped up for the whole event
Equipment care: machines and grinders need cleaning and checking daily to keep performing
Our team kept the bar running smoothly all week with 2 of our Expert Baristas on-stand at all times.
Coffee bar hire at the SEC Glasgow: what to consider
The SEC has a strong track record of hosting major international events, including COP26 in 2021, and large venues like it come with their own logistics. If you’re planning exhibition coffee in Glasgow, think about:
Stand layout: share your floor plan early so the bar fits the space without disrupting your design
Power: our mobile coffee bar needs only two standard 13amp sockets, and we bring everything else
Access and timings: check venue build-up and breakdown times, delivery windows and loading access
Menu and audience: match your drinks to your visitors, including milk alternatives and non-coffee options
Local knowledge: a Scotland-based team means no long-distance logistics and quicker, easier planning
How to plan coffee for your exhibition

Your provider should help you estimate drinks and barista numbers for your specific event
Branding and setup
Decide how closely the bar should match your stand design
Plan the menu early so seasonal drinks and alternatives are ready
Confirm setup and pack-down times with your venue
